Medical Team - We are proud to have an exemplary medical team comprising efficient full time Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Intensivists and Medical Officers. The dedicated and devoted surgical team, headed by Dr Sanjeeth Peter, the Chief Cardiovascular Surgeon, has the credit of performing many unique surgeries at this Institute.

Dr Sanjeeth Peter - Cardiothoracic Surgen
Qualified from CMC Vellore, he was awarded a Gold Medal by the M G Ramchandra Medical University for MCh in Cardiothoracic Surgery. A brilliant academic career to his merit, he has chaired sessions in national and state level conferences and workshops and has presented various papers in international conferences as well. He has a research paper published in an international journal. Dr Sanjeeth Peter set up the department and performed the first open-heart surgery in this hospital. Subsequently, he did his fellowship in Coronary Revascularization Procedures at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia, world-renowned for pioneering work in the 'Y' Graft technique and the use of radial arteries. He is also credited for introducing the pioneering technique of TAR (Total Arterial Revascularization) in the hospital. Bypass surgeries in this Institute are done using only arterial conduits and both radial arteries are frequently used, a technique not commonly used elsewhere in India. Small children - the youngest being 10 days old, have also been operated upon successfully here.

Dr Mahpaekar Mashhadi - Chief Interventional Cardiologist
She is the Chief Interventional Cardiologist with a creditable academic career. She has been trained at the Grant Medical College Mumbai, and started the Balloon Mitral and Coronary Angioplasties in this hospital. She then went to Australia for further training, a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology and continues to do excellent work at DDMM. She has chaired sessions in various conferences and workshops at national and state level. Her various papers have been presented in many conferences in India as well as abroad.

Dr. Hetalkumar Shah - Cardiac Anesthetist

He is the Cardiac Anesthetist who is an M.D. (Anesthesia) and a P.D.C.C (Cardiac and Neuro Anesthesia) by qualification. He has worked as a consultant in SCTIMT, Trivandrum. He has presented various papers in national and zonal conferences and has been awarded an award for the best paper in Second West Zone Anesthesia Conference in 2004.

Dr. Piyali Gupta - Pathologist and Microbiologist
She is our Pathologist and Microbiologist who manages the Blood Bank and the Pathology Department. She qualified from Ranchi University with a DCP and then an M.D. in Microbiology. Her various papers have been presented in various conferences of which the paper on 'Role of Elisa in H.pylori and its correlation with Urease test' was published in the journal of IAPM.

We are well supported by a devoted team of nursing staff, technicians, perfusionists, etc. All our staff members are well trained in the care of cardiac patients. The nurses and other workers are trained for cardiac resuscitation. A 1:1 ratio of nurses to patients ensures superior quality of nursing care for the patients. The attitude of the staff is one of empathy and compassion towards the patients, thus ensuring optimum care.
